Abstract :
In this study, the possibility of a new tracking system for the elderly is analyzed by simulation of signal intensity distribution and its experiments. In the method, a personal handy-phone system (PHS) is applied as an information network to track the elderly. It is important that an electronic marker is carried. This is done by miniaturizing the marker. A reduction of the output power of the marker is effective for its miniaturization. In this paper, a case of 1 mW is simulated and analyzed by experiment. If the relay station of PHS detects a signal from a handy electronic marker, the elderly can be tracked whilst strolling. Signals can be detected in residential areas
