A Pilot-Scale Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) was applied to treat harbor oily wastewater after coagulation-sedimentation process. When the influent COD was 245~544mg L-1, average effluent COD concentration from the MBR was 147mg L-1 under the HRT of 4h, with the average removal efficiency of 64.2%; Under the HRT of 8h, effluent average COD concentration was 133mg L-1, with the average removal efficiency of 64.6%. Advanced treatment of effluent from MBR was carried out by PAC adsorption. After this process, COD concentration was less than 100mg L-1, ammonia nitrogen was 1.2~4.1mg L-1, oil content was 0.4 ~ 0.9mg L-1. During stable operation time, sludge SVI fluctuated in the range of 114~168 mL g-1, MLSS stabilized at around 5100mg L-1. Transmembrane Pressure (TMP) of MBR was less than the critical TMP of 0.05Mpa for chemical cleaning throughout the operation time.
