One strain of HXL-2 that was capable of degrading the azo dye Reactive blue 13 (RB13) was isolated from a lab-scale sequence biological reactor (SBR). The isolate was identified as Candida rugopelliculosa based on its physiological and biochemical characteristics, as well as 26S rDNA D1/D2 gene phylogenetic analysis. About 90% of the 50 mg/L RB13 was degraded 48 hours after inoculation with strain HXL-2. This strain also showed the capability to degrade other azo dyes such as CI dispense brown 1, CI dispense orange 62, CI dispense red 43 and CI acid yellow 72. The decolorization rate of the bioaugmented SBR reactor B was higher than the control SBR reactors, even those under long-time operation. This electronic document is a "live" template. The various components of your paper [title, text, heads, etc.] are already defined on the style sheet, as illustrated by the portions given in this document.
