In order to compare the effects of organic sewage water treated by different kinds of eco-concretes, three column reactors were made in lab and each of them were consisted of several short porous cylinders. Every cylinder was made with the same materials. The raw materials were ordinary cement, composite cement and cement-soil. The sewage water was gathered from a sewage treatment plan which was mainly consisted of livelihood sewage. The experimental results showed that the purification effect achieved by cement-soil column was the best under the same conditions. The cement-soil cylinder was made with composite cement (25%) and red clay (75%). Microscope figures also showed that the number of microorganism on the surface of cement-soil cylinder was richest than that on the other two cylinders which were made from ordinary cement and sand or from composite cement and sand. That´s to say the most vigorous growth of micro-organisms onto the surface of cement-soil cylinders was the mainly reason for possessing excellent purification for sewage water. However, its other containing materials(clay minerals, slag and fly ash, etc.) may also have something to do with its purification effect, since they all have high adsorption capacity for pollutants in sewage water.
