Abstract
Radio frequency identification, RFID, comprises a base radio transmitter/receiver, or reader, which can interrogate and display an electronic code held in a remote device, transponder, and thus identify any item with which the transponder is associated. The paper introduces the ideas of RFID, based on the TIRIS technology, with particular emphasis on how these principles can be applied in the security arena
