Abstract
This research presents a bibliometric approach to quantitatively assessing the characteristics of home networking research, utilizing the related literature information from 1981 to 2009 at Engineering Village 2 (Ei) database. The results of this study reveal that the literature production on the research aspect of home networking grows exponentially with an annual growth rate about 20%. The analysis of literature distribution of home networking does confirm the typical S-shape for Bradford´s plot in last decade. The most document type of publication is conference article, composting 67.92% of total literature and English is the major language (98.06%). Republic of Korea tops the ranking and delivered the major contribution for total literature publication (19.91%) on home networking.
