Abstract :
Ultrasonic cavitation is well known to be applicable to the indecomposable organic materials on the waste treatment. In this study, the effect of liquid mixing behavior on the decomposition of organic material by ultrasonic irradiation was experimentally investigated. The sample to be decomposed was polphyrin aqueous solution. With increasing rotation speed of stirrer or with increasing liquid flow rate, the decomposition conversion increased and the sonochemical reaction field was observed to become larger. It was clarified that the ratio of decomposition conversion was correlated with the liquid mixing time per unit liquid volume
