Abstract
The field of advanced robotics, related to the short term needs of mankind, precisely because it has to cope with unstructured environment and a variety of different skills, has the inner potentialities to propose new phylogenetic paths in the robot evolution. Then the robotics community of researchers should continue to pursue ´mission oriented strategies´, able to cope with real problems, accepted as important by governments and consequently appealing to the funding agencies. The author briefly outlines the evolution of robotics.<>
