Abstract :
Economical and environmental issues have shifted the power distribution network on a network containing small dispersed units. Distributed generators must be considered mainly in terms of the problems and constraints they raise, whereas they appear as an opportunity to improve the quality of supply and to defer network investments. The case under study is a 20 kV distribution network containing 17 small synchronous and asynchronous hydro generators. short circuit faults in different nodes, the islanding operation of different parts of the network and the switching on/off of the generators have been investigated taking into account the different types and different operational modes of the generators
