Abstract :
A circuit-level model of VCSEL (vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser) was developed using VHDL-AMS. Square-wave and sinusoid-wave input response of the VCSEL were simulated. The large signal responses of different types of VCSEL were studied. Taking the advantage of VHDL-AMS a simple transmitter composed of a CMOS driving circuit and VCSEL was simulated in one simulation tool.
