Five one-grade indices, housing conditions, environmental security, landscape planning, public service and community culture, and 42 two-grade indices, housing style design, air quality, construction density, commodity network and community harmony et al were used to establish the assessment index system for the urban residence environment in Xuchang. The results show that housing conditions, public service and environmental security are more important than community culture and landscape planning. In the whole 42 two-grade indices, the satisfaction of heating supply is the lowest. As to the comprehensive evaluation of urban residential in Xuchang, the score of satisfaction in Dongcheng district is 10 higher than that in Weidu district. Moreover, the community culture environment needs further improvement.
