The important factor which affects the air quality of indoor is the release of various substances within the living environment of TVOC. As the main interior decoration, particle board used in construction is an important source of the release of TVOC, a larger proportion in which the ingredients are formaldehyde, terpenes, ketones and benzene and so on. This paper systematically discusses the effect which the finishing materials, processes and other factors on the TVOC. It was found that: coating type, coating time and amount significantly effected on TVOC emissions; the higher the coating weight is, the greater the level is; the longer the depositing time is , the lower within the per unit of time TVOC emissions is; 10 days of depositing, Water-based paints release more than nitro lacquer and alkyd varnish.
