Abstract :
Alternative formulations for scattering from perfectly conducting and homogeneous bodies with smooth surfaces are introduced. The idea is to formulate the problem in terms of unknown fictitious currents. Given a conducting body, fictitious currents are placed on a mathematical surface enclosed inside the body to simulate the external scattered field. If the scatterer is a material body, then in addition to the internal sources, one must also specify sources on a mathematical surface enclosing the body to simulate the field penetrating into the body. The problem is then solved by the method of moments using impulsive expansion for the fictitious currents and point-matching for testing.<>
