It is of importance to accurately assess air quality in environmental planning and protection. In view of the uncertainty of assessment indicators, set pair analysis theory is proposed. The samples are preliminarily classified by computing the connection degree between the samples and the assessment standard. Then the samples are further ranked through calculating the identity, difference and contrary degrees. The weights of indicators are obtained by information entropy. Finally, the multi-element connection number assessment model coupling with entropy weight is constructed. The assessment result is satisfactory through a case study. Compared with the other methods, the model has the characteristics of preciseness and reasonableness. So it is an effective method for the environmental comprehensive assessment.
