Abstract
This paper describes design considerations for a short-stroke high-dynamic linear actuator to be used as valve actuator in automotive applications, including the determination of actuator topology and geometry parameters, the force and dynamic calculations using finite element method and the controller design. Special aspects concerning the practical realization are discussed. Furthermore, results of experimental measurements are presented
