Abstract :
In this paper, a kind of active generalized composite drive without contact: electromechanical integrated toroidal drive is presented. In the drive, the toroidal drive, power and control are integrated. The basic structure of the drive is introduced. By electromagnetic theory and mechanical principle, the operating principle of the drive is analysed. The forces of the drive are analysed and its output torque is also determined. The coil distributions of the worm and the equations of the lead angles are given. The principle test of the drive system is done. Test results proved practicability of the drive principle. The results are useful in design and manufacture of the drive
