Abstract
The Hinfin PID controller has been analytically developed on the basis of modern Hinfin optimal control theory and it can be tuned by only one control parameter in terms of given quantitative performance and robustness. This paper considers the problem of stabilizing a stable process with time delay using the Hinfin PID controller of this kind. Making use of the extended Hermite-Biehler theorem applicable to quasi-polynomials, the stabilizing set of the Hinfin PID parameters is determined for open-loop stable plant with time delay. Simulation results not only demonstrate the validity of the obtained stabilizing set but also show that the Hinfin PID controller parameter can be tuned in a convenient manner
