Abstract
At radar frequencies, asymptotic techniques such as physical optics and the physical diffraction theory can be used for radar cross section prediction of the scattering from a material coated body of arbitrary shape. A physical optics formulation for a wide class of shapes is presented for use with the impedance surface model for lossy materials. Appropriate polarization dependence is incorporated. Both the monostatic and bistatic cases are considered through a uniform treatment of the radiation integrals.<>
