Abstract :
Packet radio computer networks seem to spread rapidly and widely into personal communications. In personal usage of packet radio, the cost of facilities is required not to be expensive. The TNC (terminal node controller), which applies the X.25 protocol to packet radio communications, is used widely in personal packet radio computer networks. The TNC has a multiconnect function which combines the multiplexing abilities implicitly involved in packet switching and radio communications. The authors describe a software program to multiplex a communication port (RS232-C) on Unix terminals into 10 logical channels.
