  • Abstract
    A new type of microgripper based on giant magnetostrictive material(GMM) is presented. Driving force is provided by the expansion and shrinkage of GMM in magnetic field. Output displacement is amplified by using flexibility hinge and leverage structure. Theoretical displacement - current model of the microgripper is established, the prototype is manufactured for experimental performance test and the results show the reliability of the designing method.
