Abstract
A holonic architecture is proposed for reconfigurable manufacturing systems based on the reference architecture PROSA. Considering the feature of reconfigurable manufacturing systems, configuration holon is introduced as a basic type of holons besides resource holon, product holon and order holon held by PROSA. The basic structure of this holonic architecture, the basic holons and interactions between holons are described in detail. Finally the conclusions and the future work are given.
