Abstract :
Discusses the activities of the Cellular Telecommunications Industry Association (CTIA) Microcell/Microsystems Subcommittee regarding microcell technology. The subcommittee was chartered to develop documents which would define the cellular carriers´ viewpoints regarding microcells/microsystems and their applications to the equipment vendors. A brief history of the subcommittee is given, followed by summaries of the `Microcell Guidelines´ document and the `Microcell/Microsystems Users´ Performance Requirement´
