Abstract :
This paper investigates the characteristics of electrical transient responses, including time constants, response times, peak amplitudes and mechanical losses, for a bolt-clamped ultrasonic transducer (BLT) in ON/OFF cycles by PSIM simulation and experiment. An equivalent circuit model with initial conditions is first expressed. This model is applied to derive functions of electrical transient responses in ON/OFF transient states. Then, a driving and measuring system, including an AC power control system and an oscilloscope, is constructed to create and record the characteristics of electrical transient responses. Finally, the simulated results are compared with the measured results
