The combustion of biomass micro fuel (BMF) was carried out respectively in the thermogravimetric analyzer and cyclone furnace to evaluate the effects of blending ratio on combustion performance. The experimental results show that with a greater proportion of biomass, the volatile releasing temperature, ignition temperature and burnout temperature decrease and the combustibility index S increases. The experimental data collected are used to study the impact of pulverised coal additions to BMF on the combustion characteristics of the co-firing process. It has been found that the temperature went down from 1296°C to 500°C with coal blending ratio from 25% to 100%, the maximum combustion temperature reaches up corresponding to biomass blending ratio 75%.
