Abstract :
Finite element analysis (FEA) was carried out on a bed plate utilizing Patran/Nastran software. The GAP elements were used to simulate the contact status between bearing housing and bed plate. It was concluded that stress distribution status was obtained really and precision of the calculation was improved as well as reducing the time of the calculation. GAP element was an available method for simulating bed plate in the wind turbine.
