Abstract :
The pulse response of an amplitude probability distribution (APD) meter is obtained by computer simulation. It is shown that the absolute pulse response of the APD meter complies with the CISPR recommendation for EMI measuring apparatus, but its relative pulse response does not comply with the CISPR recommendation when the repetition frequency of the periodic pulses is lower than 2 Hz. Computation results show that, in order to reduce the deviation between the pulse response of the APD meter and CISPR specification, the sampling frequency has to be high enough for the envelope mode of operation
