Abstract
A new technique (to be called as harmonic resistance emulator) for single-phase power factor correction using the typical full-bridge active front-end converter is proposed. Unlike conventional single-phase power factor correction circuits, which make use of a single switch boost converter, this technique employs the full bridge converter to be operated in sine-triangle PWM (pulse width modulation) mode. Two schemes of the proposed technique are discussed. One is the input-current-sensorless scheme and the other is input-voltage-sensorless scheme. Simulation results are presented
