  • Abstract
A simplified method to measure the relative dielectric constant and the dielectric loss tangent of liquid at VHF band are proposed. A sample cell which is made by using a commercially available coaxial cable connector, and a temperature control adapter are developed. The equivalent parallel capacitances and resistances of the cells which are filled with various liquids are measured under controlled temperature. The relative dielectric constant and the dielectric loss tangent of sample material can be led from the measured impedance. Experimental results for deionized water, ethylene glycol, methanol, ethanol, acetone, benzene and the lake-water in Akita prefecture, Japan are shown as frequency and temperature characteristics
