Abstract :
The application of full three-dimensional simulation tools to the characterization of EMC test environments is described. Two particular problems are addressed, namely, the damping of screened rooms with a mixture of different materials, and antenna proximity effects. The validity of room damping is evaluated by simulation using the site insertion loss as a parameter. Examples are presented obtained by simulations using the TLM method. It is shown that adequate damping may be obtained by lining selected room surfaces by suitable materials and that antenna proximity effects, can be minimized
