Abstract :
A system which can accurately simulate various types of interference waveforms and couple them into a radio receiver is described. The primary control component is one or more arbitrary waveform generators which are used for the simulation of various types of signal modulations as well as control waveforms for other system modules/components. RF modules are added as needed to produce carrier modulated waveforms which can be transmitted to the receiver under test. The system is currently being used to simulate the emission spectrum from a complex frequency hopping radar. This application is discussed in detail
