Abstract :
Experimental measurements and theoretical analysis were used to show that the line injection method for measuring surface transfer impedance was equivalent to methods that used a drive line that fully enclosed the cable under test. In addition, the far end line injection method was capable of making credible measurements to more than an order of magnitude higher frequency than the quadraxial test fixture when the same length sample was used. The transition between the low and high frequency regimes was small (less than an octave). A 2.1 cm diameter cable shield made of perforated copper sheet had a transfer impedance that was about an order of magnitude greater than the equivalent sized braided cable
