  • Abstract
For the purpose of building high-speed Locomotive Traction Gear parametric solid modeling and promoting calculation accuracy of gear´s strength, this paper provides a method of parametric solid modeling of involute helical gear, and builds the parametric solid model of a kind of locomotive traction gear and two kinds of improved models by modifying the basic parameters of gear, and then imports ANSYS software system for finite element analysis about its stress distribution on the condition of interference fit and being loaded between driving gear and motor shaft. The results of analysis of different models are compared for improved design. So we proposes improvement suggestion of improving strength and working life for this kind of gear.
