  • Abstract
The characteristics of city underwater tunnels are unfavorable for evacuation. Reasonable design and evaluation of the evacuation capacity are the premise of the safety of tunnel users. An observation experiment was carried out by using the inner vertically evacuation with slide as research object. The velocity of getting off vehicle, the running speed and the evacuating capacity of the slide during the evacuation process were recorded and analyzed. According to the results, the bottleneck of evacuation is the evacuating capacity of the slide. Meanwhile, SGEM was applied to simulate the experiment process. The testing and simulating results are basically consistent, which verified SGEM can be well used to simulate such evacuation. At the end of this paper, the slide evacuation capability was discussed, which provides references for design and evaluation of evacuation in city underwater tunnels.
