Aflatoxin contamination in food and feed is a seriously problem threaten to human and animal´s health. In this paper, a novel bacterial strain, Hitwh-B5 was screened with strong inhibition activity against aflatoxin production by Aspergillus parasiticus. Hitwh-B5 strain was identified as Bacillus subtilis by phenotypic, biochemical characterizations. The cell-free supernatant fluids (CFSF) of Hitwh-B5 collected daily during a 12 day incubation period were tested and showed active against NA accumulation and hyphal growth of Aspergillus parasiticus NFRI-95 strain. The active metabolites in CFSF were heat-stable, acidand alkaline-stable, and resistant to enzymatic cleavage. Therefore, the study highlights the potential application of B. subtilis Hitwh-B5 or its metabolites in biocontrol of aflatoxin-producing in food and feed storage.
