Abstract :
Estimation of roughness parameters of soil surface is one of the important problems in the field of radar remote sensing. In order to estimate these parameters from measured surface height-profile, data samples with sufficiently long record length are required for accurate estimation. In an actual measurement situation, however, it is difficult to get the surface height-profile in pure form because a bias and inclination of the data are unknown. In this study, we present a method for estimation of the bias and inclination from measured surface height-profile and reveal the effect of the accuracy on the parameter estimates.
