Using remote sensing images in 1996 and 2005, dynamic change of land use between 1996 and 2005 was studied and the change of land use was predicted in the future from 2010 to 2050 in the Southern Mountain Region of Jinan. The results showed: (1) The land use was mainly farmland, woodland and grassland in this district; (2) Except the reduction of woodland and farmland, other types of land use all increased; (3) Barren land and industrial estate changed more notably from 1996 to 2005; (4) Farmland, woodland and grassland will reduce and other types of land use will increased from 2010 to 2050.So with the economy developing, the people should pay attention to the protection of ecological environment and follow the road of harmonious and sustainable development.
