After careful and considered review of the content of this paper by a duly constituted expert committee, this paper has been found to be in violation of IEEE´s Publication Principles.
We hereby retract the content of this paper. Reasonable effort should be made to remove all past references to this paper.

Water level regulation due to hydropower production has caused notable changes in the littoral zones of regulated lakes and rivers. Heavy geomorphologic, littoral benthos and vegetation changes have taken place in reservoirs with a fluctuation of water level. This paper analyzed influence of water level fluctuation on vegetation and soil in littoral zone of Three Gorges Reservoir. The problems and progresses of researches on ecological reconstruction and species selection in littoral zone of Three Gorges Reservoir were also assessed. This paper could provide scientific principle and basis for maintaining ecological functions and protecting ecosystems in whole reservoir, keeping balance, safe and health of ecosystem in littoral zone of Three Gorges Reservoir.
