A method to assess the potential consequence of long range transport of radioactive nuclides from nuclear risk sites was established by applying the trajectory model TraModel and Lagrangian particle dispersion model ParModel developed by China Institute for Radiation Protection. In this paper, the influence of hypothetical radioactive releases from an Indian nuclear facility on Chinese mainland was calculated and analyzed using many years of NCEP Global Tropospheric Analysis Dataset. The results show that the method of joint application of trajectory and dispersion models for the qualitative analyses of consequence and quantitative assessment for certain conditions could be effectively applied to evaluate risk and consequences of an accident in the further studies.
