Abstract
Notice of Retraction
After careful and considered review of the content of this paper by a duly constituted expert committee, this paper has been found to be in violation of IEEE´s Publication Principles.
We hereby retract the content of this paper. Reasonable effort should be made to remove all past references to this paper.
The presenting author of this paper has the option to appeal this decision by contacting TPII@ieee.org.
In order to industrialize sewage sludge composting process, matured compost (RC) was selected as a bulking agent to compost dewatered raw sludge(RS) from urban waste water plant in this paper. Aeration rate and ratio of sludge to matured compost was determined through experiments, operation parameters were evaluated by measurement of temperature, oxygen consumption rate (SOUR), organic matter. The results showed that (1) dewatered raw sludge can be mixed with matured compost into small particles when the ratio of sludge to matured compost lower than 1:1, and composting performed well when higher than 1:3; So RS:RC=l:2(v/v) was recommended for dewatered sludge composting. (2) the composting period was about 10 days, and the aeration rate 0.05m3/(m3 · min) was appropriate at the given ratio of 1:2; (3) matured compost was not only a cheaper bulking agent for composting, but also can accelerate composting as an inoculation agent.
