Abstract :
We propose a real time tracking system efficient in indoor as well as outdoor environment based on the modulated/phase-stamp imaging technique and its associated device, the correlation image sensor (CIS). For each pixels, the CIS captures simultaneously the frame-averaged intensity and the correlation of the time-varying intensity with chosen reference signals. In the indoor case, we use a pair of sinusoidal wave as reference signals, and track leds modulated with the same signal. In the outdoor case, we take advantage of the property of modulated imaging to compute optical flow and use it to track the target.
