Service function value assessment of ecological system has become a hot research field in the world. In-depth study of ecosystem degradation mechanism and measures to prevent the degradation of ecosystem services are beneficial to the sustainable development of ecosystems. This paper used cost valuation method and the damage/benefit valuation method to assess the value of forest ecosystem services in Meizhou City. Using the assessment results and combining forest resources situation, the authors suggest some ways to restore some degenerated service functions, which are to strengthen publicity work to enhance people´s ecological conscious, to scientifically plan and to restore in small watershed in Meizhou, to do ecological construction by relying on science and technology, and to utilize the resources to develop diversified economy.
