Abstract :
Contactless energy transfer to a moving load using inductive coupling is characterized by a changing coupling between the primary coil and the secondary coil. In this paper the effect of a changing coupling is studied in more detail. Both the electrical transient and the mechanical transient are simulated using a combination of differential and steady-state equations. A strategy is derived to transfer the desired amount of power to the load continuously during movement by adjusting the voltage of the power supply
