A solvent-based paint stripper was prepared for comprehensive utilization of food -can waste tin plates. By using the single factor experiments, studied the influences of main solvent content and its mixture proportion, CTMAB content and lactic acid content to the removal efficiency, and investigated the volatility and corrosivity of paint stripper. The results showed that a low toxicity, corrosivity and volatility paint stripper was obtained when the composition was as follow(mass fraction):phenyl-ethanol for 21%, ethanol for 49%, CTMAB for 2% and lactic acid for 28%.The films were softened and removed in three to five minutes at 80°C~85°C, and the paint stripper got the highest stripping efficiency at this time.
