Abstract :
The current study of Internet topology measurement is mainly based on trace route which brings the problem of sampling bias. This paper makes a model of the sampling process, and analyzes the bias of node degree in sampling probe. We find that the probe based on trace route less impact on the degree distribution of nodes. Simulation shows that the curves of degree distribution sampled from probe source nodes with different degrees high overlap, so we conclude that the location of probe sources also less impacts on the sampling study of power-law characteristics in network topology, and it is further confirmed that the power-law characteristics got from sampling probe based on trace route can accurately reflect the power-law characteristics of actual network.
