  • Abstract
This paper develops a sampled-data based controller for the slow switching single-phase voltage source converter (VSC). The controller is based on a linear time varying model of the converter that accurately represents all system dynamics and harmonic interactions. Because the sampled-data model is already discrete-time in nature the model lends itself well to digital implementation. Experimental results demonstrate the practical viability of the proposed sampled-data controller and show that the controller can achieve a fast dynamic response and very low steady state error. Experimental measurements are also compared with simulation results obtained from the sampled-data model to validate the theoretical development
