Abstract :
In recent years the growing traffic demand in China combined with an increase in exhaust gas emissions is the main reason for a permanent decrease in air quality in urban areas. Tools are needed to assess traffic-related environment and to test the effectiveness of traffic-related air quality action. Through outlining a case study and its decisional context, this paper describes a new framework of Decision Support System (DSS) prototype integrated Expert System (ES), Data Base (DB) and knowledge creation. The DSS aims to aid environmental planners, urban designer or transport administrators by improving the decisional context for increasing the efficiency of air quality assessments and control.
