  • Abstract
    Summary form only given. We report on the first time-resolved study of the ultrafast mid-infrared reflectivity changes in YBa/sub 2/Cu/sub 3/O/sub 7/ (YBCO) after femtosecond near-infrared excitation providing new insights into the underlying quasi-particle dynamics. Our samples are optimally doped c-axis oriented films of 100 nm thickness sputtered onto a MgO substrate with T/sub c/=86 K.
