Abstract
The theoretical and finite element models are founded for partial implanted dentures and for the osseous tissues surrounding the dentures implanted in the lower jaw area. The influences of threads type on partial denture repairing are studied. The results indicate that the stress on cortical bone is much larger than cancellous one. The maximum stress occurs at the mesial side of distal implant fixed onto cortical bone. The type and pitch of the thread are both important factors for the stress distribution on surrounding osseous tissues. With the same pitch, V60 threads induce the most uniform stress distribution. And with the same type, thread with pitch 0.8mm long is the perfect one. The study provides biomechanics evidence for the optimum design of partial implant dentures.
