Abstract
The generalized scattering matrix for a generalized two-port discontinuity is used to analyze a junction between a composite region comprising a coaxial waveguide with a hollow inner conductor and a circular cylindrical waveguide. The combination of the two multiport discontinuities by a circular waveguide section is used to obtain a four-port device termed Marcatili´s coupler.<>
