  • Abstract
    The apparent viscosities of semi-solid Mg2Si/AM60 magnesium matrix composites at steady state were tested.. The results show that the apparent viscosities of semi-solid Mg2Si/AM60 magnesium matrix composites at steady state increase with increasing solid fraction fα-Mg and volume fraction of Mg2Si fMg2Si and decrease with increasing shearing rate γ. An equation that shows the effect of fMg2Si, fα-Mg, γ on the apparent viscosities was established as following, ηmmc = 15.65exp(5.15fα-Mg)· γ-0.88·(1+18.35fMg2Si+163.69fMg2Si2).
